Amelia had just poured her heart out to this kid and he starts taking off his clothes right there in front of her. She crossed her arms across her chest, rocking back onto one heel and cocking an eyebrow as she admired his bronzed skin that stretched across his muscular frame.
It wasn't until he turned around, did she realize what was actually going on. Scars that raised gently from his back covered his whole back, and she couldn't help but gently trace her fingers over the lines. "What happened?" She gasped, her voice just a mere whisper still in shock about what she was seeing.
Benjamin recounted his past tales, just as Amelia had done so. He had grown up as a slave on a ship until becoming one of the crew mates of this cruel man - Blackeye. Amelia listened to every word he was saying, taking in all this information he was sharing with her. Amelia appreciated this moment of extreme honesty with Ben. She had gone years keeping most of her life a secret and it felt good to actually share her real story with - and to hear she wasn't the only one with a messed up life. It was honestly comforting to know Benjamin had a rough life too - she felt they had a special way of connecting because of their past traumatic events. They shared something in common.
"I have done terrible things, Amelia..." He took a moment to look over at her, she could see he was trying to read her expression, to see how she was reacting to all of this. Maybe he thought she would judge him for whatever he had to say next. But she wasn't the judgmental type, she had seen her fair share of people doing terrible things - just take her mother for example. There wasn't much Amelia hadn't seen, she doubted whatever he was going to say next was going to make her think any less of him.
"I didn't want to do it. I promise you, I didn't. I had no choice, he put the gun in my hand and forced me to pull the trigger... the kid was only 10," Amelia sat on the bed up to this point in the conversation, until she sat next to Benjamin on the bench that looked out the window. "Blackeye turned me into the monster I am today." Amelia placed a hand on top of his, her gaze looking out into the ocean. "We're all monsters. Every single one of us has a past or something we're not proud of. That's what I've learned in my years..."

Guineverre's green eyes scanned the room. Where was she?! Had she already run away?! The nerve of that child... so ungrateful... typical. Just typical. If Amelia was no where to be found, where was Lukas? Where was that pirate boy?! She had been so caught up in the wine, good food, and conversation that she had neglected to keep an eye on all three of them, and she had lost them all! Oh no, that's not how this was going to happen. She still needed to get rid of that Benjamin kid... he was living evidence of her deal with the pirates. She couldn't just risk it have him walking around if he remembered any little bit about hist past...
She unpinned her blonde curls so they fell down and she shook them out, time to get down to business. Guineveree signaled a servant from across the room over to follow her as she ran off to the kitchen. "Please go fetch me that pirate boy, the real handsome fella. I believe he'll be with my daughter Amelia, see if you can locate him and bring him down, we'll be having a toast in his honor."
The servant girl nodded and ran off, leaving Guineverre in the kitchen. Guineverre rolled up the sleeves to her dress and grabbed serving trays from the cabinets and filled the trays with wine glasses. The best way she decided to get rid of Benjamin was to poison him. Her team of researchers had come up with a slow-working taste-less potion. If she could slip the poison into Benjamin's drink he would die slowly over the night and be dead tomorrow. It seemed relatively fool-proof and simple. She took the time to fill up the glasses with champagne and called for the servants to hand out the champagne, while she kept one tray - the tray that would have the one poisoned glass of champagne.
-------------
The servant girl had made her way to Amelia's room where she knocked slightly before entering the room, "Benjamin, your presence has been requested in the ball room."
FOR YOUR EYES ONLY • i'll show you my heart • FOR WHEN YOU'RE LONELY
Benjamin felt the tension release as her hand covered his, reassuring him that everyone had their own monster inside of them. He glanced over at her, Amelia's gaze facing towards the ocean. He could see the reflection of the moon and waves in her eyes and he found himself transfixed in them. They were a mixture of calm and recklessness in them, the two sides dancing blissfully in her bright blue eyes. Clearly she was more of a reckless, wild and uncontrollable girl and he had no idea what he was getting himself into with her at the moment but he sure was not going to just run from it.
"Listen, Amelia..."he began, grabbing her attention, but he was immediately cut off by a maid entering the room. Apparently he was needed in the ballroom. He pretended to give it a thought before promptly replying, "Sorry, don't feel like it,". The maid did not seem amused.
"The Queen demands it," she added smugly. Benjamin glared at her and he felt Amelia tense slightly beside him. He glanced over at her, his gaze softening.
"I'll just go and humor your mother, I won't be gone long. But we have other matters to discuss when I return, alright? Wait up for me," he whispered before standing up and following the maid to the ballroom.
Alessandra was walking around the palace grounds, thinking over how the night had gone. It definitely hadn't gone the way she had imagined it three years ago when she dreamt of being reunited with Benjamin, but she could see now that there was no chance of them getting back together. She would always love him but he saw the way he looked at the princess and while he may not admit his feelings at the moment, there was no denying that those two had a chemistry love novels were written about. There was that fire that lit up his eyes and face whenever he saw her. Benjamin had loved Ali at a point, but they were young, and it was innocent and young, not passionate and filled with adventure. He needed someone to keep him on his toes anyways.
She chuckled softly, remembering his flaring temper as she walked past the kitchen. Ali heard a noise and stopped abruptly, peering silently through the kitchen door. There stood the Queen, her back to her, mumbling incoherent words to herself. She frowned, about to take a step towards her to ask if she was okay when she saw the Queen pour something into a glass of champagne and hand out other glasses to servants. She gasped, realizing just what Guineverre was planning. She took off running up to Amelia's room with no hesitation, trying her best to skip stairs and hurry as quickly as possible but the dress she was wearing didn't allow for much movement.
She reached Amelia's room, bursting in with no hesitation.
"BEN--" she started to yell Benjamin's name but only saw the princess staring at her, and she didn't look very happy to see her.
Alessandra froze for a second, staring at her. Clearing her throat, she stood up straighter. "Where's Benjamin?" she asked.
Amelia's eyes hardened and she replied bitterly, "Why do you ask?"
"Listen, princess, I'm not here for what you're thinking. Benjamin is in danger, now where is he?" Apparently this had gotten the princess' attention since she sat up from her bed, springing into action.
"What do you mean he's in danger?"
"The Queen, she poisoned his drink. I warned him that there was more to this whole thing, she knows something about Benjamin's past and needs to get rid of him. I don't know what it is and why he's so d*mn important to her, but that's not the point. The point is, Benjamin is about to drink a glass of champagne filled with deadly poison and it might already be too late."
----------------
Benjamin was sitting in the ballroom, rubbing his face as he waited for the Queen. If it was so important for him to meet with her, why was she running behind? He was just about to stand up and leave when the door opened, bringing Guineverre in and a few servants. She smiled a sickly sweet smile at him that appeared way too fake and made him very uncomfortable.
"Ah, Benjamin! There you are, you ran off earlier before we could discuss some things," she said, sitting down next to him, placing a glass of champagne in front of him and her. He glanced at the drink before shoving it away from him slightly.
"I'm not the champagne type of guy, Your Highness," he stated bluntly, glancing at her. Her face had hardened for a second but it was quickly replaced with that awful smile.
"Benjamin, would you refuse a toast with the Queen who is granting you immunity with my soldiers in a few days? I just want to toast to the great job you have been doing so far, some guests commented about the new noble in town. Amelia will surely fall for this and I will have my daughter back before I know it," she said, raising her glass to him. Benjamin had to refrain from taking the glass and smashing it on her head and choking her out for the lies she was spinning to him. But instead he held his tongue and temper and returned her sickly sweet smile with one of his own, raising his glass to her's.
"To freedom," he said sarcastically, clinking the wine glass with her's before taking a drink of the champagne.
Take it s l o w, but it's not typical He already knows that my love is fire
A M E L I A
Benjamin had left the room, and her heart was still beating a mile a minute and her stomach felt like it was doing small little flips in her stomach. She had never felt this kind of feelings before, it was strange. She stood up and stared out the window picturing what her life would have been like if she had never left the walls of this castle. What if she had grown up as sheltered as her mother had tried to make her life? She would have never met Benjamin. Fate must have been pulling some strings for her. For she was one to believe things didn't happen by accident, there was a purpose to everything.
The door to her room was busted open, standing in the doorframe was the small blonde girl that had been by Benjamin's side at the beginning of the night, she was also the one that had been there at their attempt to escape. She had no idea who this woman was, nor did she care to. But why on earth was she in her room?
"BEN--"
Amelia's eyes narrowed, her eyes refusing to leave Ali's green gaze. She seemed nervous under Amelia's gaze as she shifted to stand up a little straighter and clear her throat, "Where's Benjamin?" "Why do you ask?" She sneered. Whatever Ali had to say, it better be important. Who did she think she was? That she could just bust into her room like that? And demand for Benjamin. This bitch.
"Listen, princess, I'm not here for what you're thinking. Benjamin is in danger, now where is he?"
That caught her attention. Benjamin. Danger. Those two words struck a sick feeling in her stomach. Her mom must have done something, or planned something.
And with that Amelia sprung from her bed where she had been sitting previously. She rushed past Ali and rushed straight to the ballroom. She had reached the top of the stairs that descended down into the grand ballroom and she spied Benjamin and her mom from across the room, Benjamin taking a sip from the champagne.
Shit. Amelia looked around the whole ballroom looking for Lukas, surely he would know what to do. Her blue eyes jumped from person to person looking for the tall, bulky blonde boy. Damn it. She didn't have time for this. She rushed down the stairs before slowing to a walk as she reached the floor of the ballroom. Calm. Calm. Remain calm. Pretend like you don't anything's wrong.
She couldn't raise any red flags with her mom, or who knows what would happen. She took in a couple of deep breaths before strolling as casually as she could through the crowd of people, weaving in and out of dancing folks and drunken folks that were all over the place. It was getting late and it was that time of night where most people had reached their limits with drinks. Amelia threw up her elbows as she pushed through all the drunks until she finally made her way to Benjamin.
"BEN." Her voice was sort of a shout, to get his attention above all the noise of the ballroom. His eyes seemed to fixate towards hers immediately, a small smile gracing his lips. Oh he had no idea what kind of trouble he was in. She knew if she even mentioned anything about poison his temper would flare and blow their cover instantly. She had to think of something to get him out of here without raising his or anyone's suspicions.
She took one of his hands and spun around, dancing to the music before she leaned onto his chest. Both of her arms wrapped around his neck. She felt his arms wrap around her, and it just felt so right. Being in his embrace. But now wasn't the time for any of this, she had to get him out of here now and find Lukas. She stood on her tiptoes to reach his ear, "What do you say about getting out of here.." She whispered, her voice teasing. She giggled as she watched his brown eyes light up and she took him by the hand and dragged him across the ballroom floor. Lord knows what he was thinking about, but at least she had his attention.
And there was Lukas, he was standing at the bottom of the stair case talking to one of the Navy men. "Lukas, I need you." And without hesitation he nodded his head and joined Amelia by her side, Benjamin in tow behind her. Benjamin's grip tightened when Lukas approached. Causing Amelia to spin around and look at Benjamin. She grabbed him by the sides of his arms and looked at him, trying to remain as calm as possible, "You're in serious danger. But please remain calm or my mom will know that I know something. And she can't know that..... if that makes any sense. We have to go to Lukas' house." She looked over at Lukas, "My mom did something really bad Lukas, and I know you know how to fix this." Lukas had wiped his hand over his face, massaging his jaw, "The more I learn about your mother, the more I really start to hate the bitch." Amelia chuckled, "Hah, try having her as your mother, but listen, we have to get out of here. Like right now."
The three of them left the castle and headed over to Lukas' house that was just up the hill. Benjamin at this point was begging Amelia to tell him what was wrong, and she felt it was only fair to tell him. Especially now since they weren't at the castle, he could freak out as much as he could out here. She took a deep breath, "My mom poisoned you with that glass of champagne. I'm going to kill her."
Benjamin absolutely flipped at that point. Amelia let him rant because she knows if she was in his situation she would be throwing the hugest fit. I mean it's no laughing matter to get poisoned, but she knew Lukas knew how to fix this. He spent hours and hours studying, surely he knew what to do. That's when she looked over at him, "You do know how to fix this right?" Lukas nodded, "Yes, well, the first thing to try is to make him throw it up... and if that doesn't work I might have a recipe that could reverse the affects of the poison, but it will be the grossest thing you ever drank.... so Benjamin... what is it?"
